Although it's called Red Valerian, the flowers can be red, pink or white. It's a common, showy plant of dunes, sea cliffs, walls and dry places. It begins to flower in May and lasts most of the summer. The leaves are oval, pointed and opposite on the stem. Height is up to 3 feet.
