The Sea Plantain grows from a rosette of linear leaves and can be seen on rocks, cliffs and saltmarshes. Its flowers are brownish with yellow stamens and grow in spikes about 3 inches long, reaching a height of about 6 to 9 inches. Its flowering period is from June until August.
