Black Mustard is a common plant of sand dunes and sea cliffs, seen in flower from May until September. Its 4-petalled flowers are usually pale yellow in colour but can be white. The plant is typically 3 to 5 feet in height. Differing from similar species in having stalked leaves; the upper leaves are lanceolate, the lower bristly.
