One of the commonest members of the mint family, Water mint is a hairy palnt, 10 to 20 inches high smelling strongly of mint. As its name suggests, it grows near water or in damp places. The lilac-coloured flowers are in terminal heads and can be seen from July to September. Can be used in the same way as garden mint.
