The pinky-orange fruits of the Spindle tree are quite distictive in autumn. The wood of this tree is hard, and was once used to make spindles - hence the name. The berries are poisonous, causing diarrhoea and vomiting. The leaves are opposite, lanceolate and slightly toothed. It grows to a height of about 20 feet.
