The China Limpet is flatter than the Common or Black-footed Limpets, roughly egg shaped with the apex set further back. The head-scar is pale white to orange, and the shell has radiating ribs from the apex to the edges, giving a wavy-edged margin. The ribs have a distinctive pattern of one large rib, followed by two or three smaller ones.
