Acteon shells are up to ¾ inch long, barrel shaped (sometimes called the Beer Barrel shell), dull pink or brownish. Easily recognized by the distinctive white bands on the shell, and elongated aperture, reaching over half way down the shell. Common on sandy beaches, but rather local.
