Buck's Mills is a beach of shingle and low-tide rocks and rockpools. Directly in front of the main access is a narrow sandy channel where the rocks were blasted to allow boats to be launched. This now provides access to the sea for the occasional bather. A narrow leafy lane from Bucks Cross village leads to a free parking area, from where beach access is a walk of about ½ mile further down the lane through the quintessentially English Buck's Mills village, with its idyllic cottages and luxuriant gardens.
