Aber-west
Aber-west

The small cove of Aber-west lies just below the headland of Dinas Fawr on the north side of St Brides Bay. It has a shore of low-tide sand backed by a very steep bank of rocks and thorny scrub and is NOT easily accessible. Immediately west of Aber-west and connected to it by a short low-tide sea cave is the similar cove of Porth y Bwch. Even with a rope, reaching these beaches from the coastal path would be difficult. The only way to reach these beaches is by paddleboard or kayak from nearby Solva. I have included it here because these websites : thebeachguide.co.uk, stayinwales.co.uk and bluestonewales.com have all copied mis-information from each other and wrongly claim this beach is accessible. According to thebeachguide.co.uk it has a "gently sloping grassy hill to the rear", stayinwales.co.uk mistakenly confuse this beach with nearby Gwadn Cove and bluestonewales.com claim it's "visited by the locals who know it well".
