Westward Ho! is the only town in Britain with an exclamation mark in its name. Towards the north, the beach is wide and sandy and backed by a ridge of shingle, with rocks toawrds the southern end. Access is down steps or a wide slipway. Locally there are plenty of facilities including cafes, bars, toilets ♿ and shops selling beach goods and souvenirs. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 1st May and 30th September, and lifeguards patrol from mid-May until the end of September.
