If you're travelling north of Dolgellau along athe A470 on a hot day, this river pool on the Afon Mawddach is well worth a visit. Parking can be found at a layby on the east side of the road about 100 yards south of the Ty'n y Groes Inn. From here walk northwards to find a public footpath on the right leading down to the river. The river pool is about 15 to 20 feet deep at its deepest point. There's also a car park in the forest just to the north, with a path back through the forest on the opposite side.
