It's a long, narrow and winding road up the Cwm Pennant valley, and the same on the way back. Where the metalled road ends, there is some space for parking. From here a public footpath continues up the valley side to the north-east to the former Prince of Wales quarry and its reservoir, which is still held in place by two solid stone walls. On the way up here, the narrow lane crosses the Afon Dwyfor by a small bridge at Grid Ref : SH533476 where a small, deep pool has formed just below the bridge. There is space to park here (last photo).
