Dawlish Warren is a long sandy beach interspersed with groynes, reaching into the Exe estuary. The groynes are numbered 1 to 15 from West to East, and dogs are not allowed between the first three groynes from April 1st until September 30th. Beach access is down a slipway or steps. The beach has good facilities and the western end of the beach is backed by a small shopping village with surf shops, beach cafes, a pub and toilets. The eastern end of the beach is backed by the Dawlish Warren nature reserve. Parking is at a large P&D car park and Dawlish Warren railway station is about 300 yards away. RNLI lifeguards patrol during the school summer holidays.
