The Teifi Pools consist of six lakes set in bleak moorland landscape in the county of Ceredigion about 15 miles from Aberystwyth. Three of them (Llyn Teifi, Llyn Egnant and an unnamed lake) are used as reservoirs, whilst the other three (Llyn Hir, Llyn y Gorlan and Llyn Bach) are natural lakes. Llyn Hir (above) is the largest of these, and drains via a small stream on the east side into Llyn Egnant. As their collective name implies, they drain into the Teifi river. The mountain road from Ffair-Rhos is very narrow, with some sharp turns, and degenerates into a track (signposted as 'Unfit for motor vehicles') at Grid Ref : SN795680. Some space for parking can be found, but a right turn at this point leads alongside Llyn Egnant, and parking spaces can be more easily found here. A local angling club has fishing rights in the lakes.
