Saunton Sands is a wide, 3-mile long sandy beach backed by dunes reaching from the village of Saunton to Crow Point in the Taw estuary. Facilites include toilets, showers, surfboard hire and tuition, a beach kiosk and restaurant. Parking is at a large Pay-as-you-exit car park just behind the dunes, and it's just a short walk to the beach. Dogs are allowed at all times, but there are no lifeguards. A rip current frequently occurs on the north end of the beach by the rocks.
