Putsborough Sands

Putsborough Sands is the southern end of Woolacombe Sands - a 3-mile long sandy beach backed by dunes, with the headland of Baggy Point to the south. Its west-facing aspect offers good conditions for surfing, and surfboard hire is available. The (attended) car park is above the beach, and access to the shore is down steps. Dogs are not allowed from May until September inclusive.

Comment : We came to this beach after finding that all the roads into Woolacombe beach were extremely busy. It was a brilliant find and actually on the same beach bay but at the other end. The car park was close to the beach and the access was brilliant. The cafe was good. The toilet facilities were fantastic, very clean and well looked after. They have won a recent award, which I’m not surprised about. They have a shop selling all sorts of beach stuff. There are lots of rocks around so children enjoy the rock pools and also some shallower pools left over from the tide leaving splash zones for younger children to play in safely. The waves are good and there were many surfers. We would definitely recommend this beach.
