Leasowe Bay is a wide sandy beach on the Wirral's northern coast, which is becoming popular for surfers. It's backed by a sea wall, promenade and small dunes. A free parking area runs for about 200 yards along the back of the beach, with bays overlooking and facing the sea. Leasowe rail station is just over a mile away. Lifeguards patrol from the end of June until early September (10a.m. to 6p.m.), and dogs are allowed at all times. At low tide, the sea retreats over a mile revealing extensive sandbars which can be a hazard to the unsuspecting visitor.
