Blue Anchor is a wide sandy beach, backed by some shingle and a concrete sea wall. The road runs along the back of the beach with plenty of (free) bays for parking. Facilities include toilets, a Nisa store, catering vans in summer, two pubs (Blue Anchor Hotel & the Smugglers), a camping site, B&B's and an ice cream shop / cafe.
Access is either down steps from the sea wall, down a cobbled slipway at the eastern end or a walk across the shingle at the western end. South facing seats built into the sea wall are popular for sunbathing. The West Somerset Railway's station is just a few yards from the beach. Dogs are allowed at all times.
