Seaton Beach consists predominantly of flint pebbles, which shelve steeply toards the sea. The beach is backed by a promenade and sea wall, with plenty of P&D bays for parking just behind. A dog ban applies to the main part of the beach (about ½ mile) between May and September inclusive. Toilets are available at the western end, along with cold water showers, but there are no lifeguards here.
Seaton is also the terminus of the Seaton tramway, where trams run along the 2 mile route of the former BR branch line to Seaton from Colyton.
