The shore at Hamworthy consists of a narrow band of coarse sand backed by a promenade, beach huts and playing fields. A small P&D car park is a short distance away (fills quickly during hot weather) and facilities include a drinking water tap, tennis courts and a large children's play area with paddling pool. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May to September inclusive.
