Llyn Newydd

Llyn Newydd (above) and Llyn Bowydd are two former reservoirs about a mile north-east of Blaenau Ffestiniog on the northern slopes of Manod Mawr at a height of about 490 metres. They were constructed to supply water to the Maen Offeren Slate Quarry. A former tramway runs behind both and continues to the disused Cwt-y-Bugail Quarry.
