Acteon Shell

Sometimes called the Beer Barrel shell, Acteon shells are up to ¾ inch (25 millimetres) long, barrel shaped and dull pink or brownish in colour. It's easily recognized by the distinctive white bands on the shell and elongated aperture reaching over half way down the shell. Commonly found on sandy beaches, but rather local.

Found at Pembrey Beach Carmarthenshire
